A life preserver must be worn whenever a boat is in gear and going over 10mph. Live Well Check: Livewells will be checked at the designated tournament pay site. Designated Teams: A team will fish as one or two anglers in a boat. Teams are designated by the 2nd tournament. If extenuating circumstances are met(death, cancer, work schedule change) …. A trail member can get another partner and count the first 1 or 2 tournaments as their sub usage. Subs: Substitutes must be designated to a single team. They can not fish in tournaments with other subs. They can not fish in the Classic. Fishing from boat only: All participants of a MVA tournament must fish from the boat only. In the event of boat or engine problems one member may leave the boat and ride with another member or non-member to the launch site to enter their fish at the weigh-in without penalty if they arrive on time. Participants that wish to leave the tournament early should make the Weigh Master aware of it. On the discretion of the Weigh Master that team may be able to weigh in their fish. If a team must leave early before the end of a tournament they must inform an MVA officer or inform a member that they are leaving early. Teams may also leave a note on the windshield of one of the MVA officers. Informing someone when you are leaving will let the officials know that you are not stranded somewhere on the water and unable to return to the launch site. Care and disposition of fish: MVA members shall use care in the handling of fish from catch to weigh-in so as to take every precaution and effort to keep fish alive for return to the water after the weigh-in. When releasing fish, do not throw fish over the dock wall or banks. Gently release fish in the water allowing them time to swim off on their own. Tournaments Rules in General
